ICAS,

Why a Career in Engineering is an Evergreen Option?

The world is currently at the crossroads of some very remarkable developments. We are looking towards a future where robots may serve us food at restaurants, banks may exist only online, cars may no longer require drivers, and intercontinental travel may be possible within a couple of hours. Engineering is progressing at such a rapid pace that it is truly becoming difficult to keep up with it. And if there ever was a demand for engineers, it is now. The time is ripe for B Tech engineering students to land coveted jobs and make a difference in the world.

Great opportunities

Upcoming fields such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning are seeking talented engineers at incredible salaries. The demand-supply equation in this situation is so skewed that companies are willing to pay you a 50% hike in case you are skilful in these fields, and the salaries may well be in 7-figures. And as the economy progresses, the salaries are only going to keep increasing.

Abundance of Jobs

Engineering is a field that is one of the least affected by seasonality. Some businesses may work in summers and some in winters, but engineers are in demand the year round. Also, due to the newer streams within engineering that are opening up, one can always be assured of good job listings. According to a leading English daily, more than 50,000 jobs are currently lying vacant in data science and machine learning due to a dearth of qualified engineers.
